Daily tours are conducted by experienced guides through large well lit caverns with beautiful decorations, rare ferns and massive tree roots and occasionally small bats. The huge domed Cathedral Cave is renowned for its acoustics and is a popular wedding venue. Great Keppel Island Day Trip Bundle from Yeppoon
Ferry transfers depart from Keppel Bay Marina, located just outside Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast. Ferry departs every day at 9am on the summer timetable (September 1 to March 31) or 9:30am on the winter timetable (April 1 to August 31) and a mere 30 minute ferry journey will transport you to the picture perfect paradise that is Great Keppel Island.Ferry transfers depart from Keppel Bay Marina, located just outside Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast. Ferry departs every day at 9am on our summer timetable (1st September-31st March) or 9:30am on our winter timetable (1st April - 31st August) and a mere 30 minute ferry journey will transport you to the picture perfect paradise that is Great Keppel Island. Upon arrival, your day can pan out as you choose, with no strict order of the day. You may opt for the activity first and jump on a paddle board or kayak for an hour to work up an appetite or alternatively head off and explore the abundant bush walking tracks and secluded beaches, leaving the activity until after lunch. Lunch is served at Great Keppel Island Hideaway's bar & bistro from 12pm-2pm every day, select a burger of your choice from their menu - the full works "Hideaway Beef Burger" is highly recommended. The rest of your afternoon is your free time to relax, explore or play, with ample knowledgeable local characters to point you in the direction of a quirky bay, lookout point or a decent deckchair. Keppel Konnections Ferry departs Great Keppel Island at 4pm every day, with late services being offered Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
2-Hour Capricorn Caves Adventure Caving Excursion
This limestone playground boasts a number of challenging adventure caving routes; catering to all skill and fitness levels. With all gear – including coveralls, helmets and torches – supplied, all you need to bring is your sense of adventure and possibly your sense of humour when squeezing through ‘Fat Man’s Misery’!Your adventure of a lifetime will start from the Capricorn Caves visitor reception where you will meet your guide and they will equip you with everything you need including coveralls, helmets and torches. All we ask you to bring with you is sturdy walking shoes and a good sense of adventure, and possibly your sense of humour when squeezing through ‘Fat Mans’s Misery”! The tour will take up to 2 hour and involves exploring caves, tunnels and shafts the adventurous way by climbing, crawling and squeezing. There is a reward for all your hard work, have your breath taken away by the 360 degree stunning view and cool breeze on the summit of the cave. The tour is challenge by choice so it can accommodate different sizes and fitness levels.
Keppel Islands Sailing Cruise from Yeppoon

A full day experience aboard sailing catamaran Grace II exploring the Keppels. Includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch and snorkeling and dinghy transfers to shore.Sail Capricornia's day cruise departs from Keppel Bay Marina and sails to secluded beaches and coves and coral reefs of the beautiful Keppel Islands. Our trip to the islands takes about 1.5 hours and once there you can snorkel, swim, play, eat or just relax and put your feet up while taking in the beautiful surroundings of Keppel Bay. Grace II drops anchor for lunch while her guests snorkel the fringing coral reef, beach-comb, swim or just soak up the Queensland sunshine. The day cruise includes morning tea, buffet lunch with fresh local prawns, afternoon fruit platter, filtered water, soft drinks, tea and coffee (please advise us of any allergies you may have). Guests are welcome to BYO beer, wine and premix alcohol.Snorkeling gear is provided as well as stinger suits and wetsuits in season.Grace II is a sailing catamaran and, as such, the day’s destination is guided by the wind direction and tides. The best island and beaches for the day will be selected depending on the conditions. There are 18 islands in the Keppel group and we visit a few of them throughout the year.
