Blue Mountains Hanging Rock Self-Guided Mountain Bike Tour
Join your self-guided mountain bike tour of Blue Mountains Hanging Rock for a great perspective of this world heritage listed natural wonder. Suitable for all fitness and experience levels and wont leave you exhausted at the end of it. Hanging Rock has no fences or gates and riding a bike is one of the best eco-friendly way to explore this National Park. This is not just a ride, but an incredible experience!!Please include each riders height and gender when booking for correct bike size allocation. The day runs as follows. Meet up with Sam at the confirmed time and location. Arrive 10-minutes early to take care of some paperwork. Sam will get you set up on your bike properly and ensure you have one his good quality helmets fit correctly (safety first!) and fits you properly to your helmet. Expect to spend 30-40 minutes with Sam as he runs over bike operation, trail info and some great skills and technical tips. With a map in hand and after a few photos, you are off on a truly amazing experience. Sam accepts high fives, hugs, knuckles and what ever excitement you bring back with you from your adventure. Bikes are 2017 Specialized 29'ers with hydraulic disc brakes and wide handle bars. The big wheel 29'ers and wide handlebars really help your confidence and make riding so much easier. If you have not ridden a modern mountain bike....you are in for a real treat! When you have finished this amazing ride, check out some of the amazing cafes in the Blackheath Village. You could also then get your hiking gear on and do the amazing "Grand Canyon" walk from Blackheath. You will not find a bad review about this little 2-3 hour hike. With scenic valley views across the Grose Valley and crisp mountain air, this ride follows the fire trail along the ridgeline to the spectacular Baltzers Lookout and jaw dropping Hanging Rock. Unlike other lookouts in the mountains, there is no safety fence here to separate you from and what feels like the bottom of the world!

The journey takes you deep inside the sandstone cliff where you'll wade, scramble, swim and jump into pools. Complete your canyon journey with a thrilling waterfall abseil down Empress Falls.In the cooler months (typically May 1st to September 30th), you'll descend Juggler Canyon and explore the lower section of the Blue Mountains' own 'Grand Canyon.' This trip does not involve getting in to water (though you will get wet feet), while descending multiple abseils to reach the end of the canyon.From the end of the canyon adventure, you'll hike back to the bus and take in some of the most impressive views to be found anywhere in the Blue Mountains along the way. Your approximate return to the Adventure Center is 4:30pm.

The tour includes pickup from any hotel or train station in the Blue Mountains area.Your 4WD tour begins with pickup from your accommodation or train station in the Blue Mountains for the drive to your first stop, Clarence, at the site of the Old Zig Zag railway. Head straight into the adventure with some serious four-wheel-driving before continuing to the Lost City, a formation of rock pagodas etched from nature over millions of years. After visiting these formations, check out some Aboriginal artwork painted thousands of years ago, and then visit the Royal Hotel at Capertee for a lunch of home-cooked items and a drink, enjoyed by a coal fire in the winter months. After lunch, head off to do some creek crossings and hopefully spot a few wallabies and other native wildlife. The final part of your tour provides exclusive access to a private property with 270-degree views of Capertee Valley, the largest valley in the Southern Hemisphere and second-largest in the world (by width), second only to the Grand Canyon. The views seem to go on forever and overlook the giant Pantoneys Crown. You will then be dropped back at your accommodation or the train station of your preference in the Blue Mountains, where your tour concludes.
