The main exhibit at the Aviation Heritage Centre is a massive B-52 bomber (one of only three on display outside the U.S.) along with other military aircraft, engines and the wreckage of a Japanese Zero fighter shot down in the 1942 air raids on Darwin. This is a unique opportunity to imagine and experience history first hand.Visit: Darwin Aviation Museum, 557 Stuart Highway, Darwin, Northern Territory 0821 AustraliaGeneral admission provides access to all displays and artifacts. An impressive presentation of Aviation videos of the B-52, and the bombing of Darwin are continuously displayed. You can see some rare amateur footage of the first air-raid in Darwin, and also original footage from Japanese archives. There are 19 aircraft on display, as well as 38 major displays, relics of crashed aircraft, and 21 engines. The exhibitions are being continually updated by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers of the Aviation Heritage Society of the Northern Territory, a non-profit association. Aircraft include a B-25 Mitchell Bomber – one of the few surviving in the world with a proven track record. There are Mirage and Sabre jet fighters, and a Royal Australian Navy Wessex helicopter that assisted in the clean-up of Darwin after Cyclone Tracy struck on Christmas Day 1974. The latest acquisition is an F-111C which arrived by road from Amberley on 16 June 2013.

Your sunset cruise aboard the 'Charles Darwin' takes in the beautiful Darwin Harbour in full air-conditioned comfort. Our tours are focused on providing you with an Australian outback adventure.  We explore the best natural attractions along the Savannah Way; observing native wildlife in their natural habitat, hiking through gorges, discovering ancient aboriginal rock art and swimming in pristine natural waterholes.Day 1 - We'll pick you up around 6am.  Our first stop is a wildlife cruise on Corroboree Billabong before entering Kakadu to explore the Aboriginal paintings at Ubirr. We will visit the Bowali Visitor Centre before setting up camp.Day 2 - Today we visit Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls which involves a short cruise.  We then head stop at Yellow Water Billabong before setting up camp.Day 3 - This morning we will go to the historic town of Pine Creek.  Afterwards, we'll visit Katherine and Mataranka for a swim.  We will camp in Elsey National Park.Day 4 - This morning we stop at Roper Bar, wander the ruins of a historic police station and visit Lomarieum Lagoon.  Later on, we will stop at Nathan River Ranger Station and Information Centre in Limmen National Park.  Tonight, we will camp at Butterfly Gorge.Day 5 - Our first stop is the Southern Lost City, then on to Lorrella Springs, a true hidden gem where we will spend the next two nights camping and exploring. Day 6 - With almost a thousand kms of tracks on the property, we spend the daylight hours exploring Lorrella Springs, visiting swimming holes, aboriginal sites and viewpoints around the station. Day 7 - We stop at a remote outback town called Borroloola before moving onto Echo Gorge. Tonight, we’ll camp near the NT / QLD border.Day 8 - Our first stop is Hells Gates, we then cross Nicholson River where you’ll see the giant causeway.
